Some people are on a constant quest to better themselves and their world around them. Rodrigo Ruiz-Rosales, a SNAC 2021 BSN scholarship awardee, is one of those people. “I am honored to be one of the recipients of the SNAC Scholarship. Thanks to your generous support, I am the first in my family to attend and graduate from college.”

After working many years as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), he set a goal to pursue his dream to become a professional Registered Nurse (RN).  Rodrigo first earned his Associate Degree in Nursing in 2020 from Hillsborough Community College.  He then enrolled in a collegiate program to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN). While pursuing his BSN, Rodrigo balanced school while working as a CNA and caring for his family. He is the first in his family to attend and graduate from college and what is most important that he set an example for his kids to pursue higher education and focus on careers that will impact the rest of their lives. Rodrigo’s attitude is to work hard, stay positive and make it happen!

“Earning my BSN created a sense of pride and desire to continue learning because it helps nurses

on their journey toward advancing their careers with an advanced degree.”

Rodrigo plans to continue his education toward earning a Master’s of Science Degree as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Emergency Care. Rodrigo is currently employed at Manatee Memorial Hospital after graduating from the State College of Florida.
